February 19, the 4th day of the trip, the 2nd day in Mandalay, we have a fresh start. Shortly after breakfast, we were already on the street to photograph the morning activities on a small street. Of particular Steve McCurry fashion, the best portrait opportunity is usually when people are doing what they usually do, the photographer’s job is to define a moment that can define such a person. The interpretation of each image will be and should be different among the photographers. And everyone is out to find his or her own definition. I went into a small court yard of a private house, met this gentleman who find his own comfort on the bed, have a quick visual exchange with him knowing that he would not mind me taking this image, and snap away this image.
